Ideas for Technology in Education

There are a ton of ways technology can be used to enhance education! I would have to say one way is to destroy ALL overhead projectors and use PowerPoint. I think PowerPoint is a really great tool because it is much easier to see and no one has to try to decipher horrible handwriting.

Video games would also be a great way to enhance learning. Believe it or not my research topic for the last semester was for good uses of video games. I talked about how much parents criticize video games because they supposedly dumb down their children but in actuality they can make them more intelligent. Video games require a lot of thinking sometimes. When gamers play together they really use strategic ways to advance in games. Leadership skills are attained in playing together. Some games incorporate problem solving, riddles and tricky puzzles that require a lot of thinking to solve. All in all video games produce better thinking because they are using their mind more often. I think that kind of state of mind is needed for education and of course there are educational games that are very informative and useful in the classroom because it gives students a visual to learn from.
